Biometric orchestration refers to an enterprise’s management and oversight of an authentication solution that is based primarily on a combination of inherence factors. Admins control or “orchestrate” the activities of a biometric platform (backend) from the enterprise as end users authenticate to varying systems on mobile (front end). The breadth of a console’s features can vary as they mirror the underlying solution’s capabilities.
Some engines act upon the solution’s pre-integrations with IAM, IdP and KYC providers facilitating deployment across an enterprise. Others give administrators real-time abilities to enroll, register and provision; authority and visibility over biometrics policies; management of public keys; and verification of the signatures created on a mobile device.
Some biometrics authentication products are built upon open standards such as FIDO, and thus begin as building blocks before providers build value on top of the standard. As such, a biometric orchestration engine is just one tool that an enterprise uses to tie together other solution elements (e.g. client and server software capabilities).

"Our developers had many biometric modalities to choose from, so they leveraged biometric orchestration tools to make it easy for customers to log in with their preferred authenticators."
